Bvc Widomaker question

Okay, ive got a 1os Widomaker bow on my Bvc and a Lo and a Um rune. Which rune should i socket the bow to make it more effective in PvP,especially vs Trapsins?|||either hel (for lower req) or shael is advised.

I never needed widow vs a trapper, just get tgods on and hunt em.|||shael? if you're using highlords with it an ed/15ias would be better.

but yeah, just hel for lower reqs.|||Quote:

aaaaand here we have the typical advice: sorb.

get some skill. a good BvC should stomp a trapper without any sorb.|||Quote:

If you use the regular pure vita build, go with Hel to lower the requirements.

If an ED/IAS jewel or Shael will make your Widow faster, consider using one of them:

0% = 14FPA, 9% = 13 FPA, 19% = 12 FPA, 32% = 11 FPA, 54% = 10 FPA, 86% = 9 FPA, 152% = 8 FPA

If neither of the options above will help you, use Um. Forget about Lo. It's basically useless since the physical damage of the bow is very low.

A general tip is to be very careful with your bow out. You become very vulnerable and stompable. Against an experienced hammerdin widow is suicide.|||Quote:

there are a lot of very experienced barb players who'll tell you the opposite.

Against an experienced hammerdin, a widowmaker is essential.

my BvB actually does pretty reasonable damage with a widowmaker, but that's largly due to highlords ammy, fort armour, dex for block and +max charms. the open wounds from dracs/gores is also pretty nifty.

bow barbs are fun!|||um, no question.|||if you do go for a non hel'd widow (146 dex req.), keep in mind that this will almost give you max block with an eld'd whitstan's... (152 dex req. @ lvl 90)

and if you mostly use it vs hammers, consider an eth as well (-25% target def). its nerfed by 1/2 in pvp (-12.5%), but still... 4 hits with it = mr. hammerdin only has half his defense.|||Quote:

its more like a good trapper 5-0s a bvc with legit sorb (i.e. thundergods for example).

widowmaker doesnt help too much here because trappers can even play quite offensively against barbs. a careful trapper definitely has the advantage in onscreen situations.

widowmaker could make bad or mediocre trappers do mistakes and rush in without proper trap placement but meh.

102fc ws maxblock bos setup combined with a bit dueling experience destroys barbs GM.

@topic: as a barb you usually will have switched back to your regular dual wield setup by the time your arrows hit, so the best way i see here is to try socketing damage (40/15).

if you want to have high open wounds or so on switch (due to that switch bug thing) you might want to use beast as primary.

but yah, overall ... you can go ahead and try, maybe it will give you an edge against some players, but especially against good trappers (which seem to be your problem) the things you should focus on are lightning fast locks and good timing, and being able to break their locks before taking much damage.

ps. eth rune doesnt work like that in pvp. its literally work nothing if you socket it into widowmaker. use the search function if you wanna know how exactly eth rune works in pvp.|||Quote:

this is a great turn of phrase. i know instantly what you mean and it encompasses a lot of possible situations.
