opinions on es/orb sorc armour

my current setup is:

df 34-5 (661 cta)

spirit 35/112 (random spirit)

nightwings 20-5

random viper 4-5

frosties

arach

treks

2*soj

and a 2sorc/10fcr amu which i was using while i kept rolling my spirit.

charms: mostly mana/life charms, one mana/fhr gc, and 2 cold skillers, and obviously torch+anni.

now that i've rolled a 35 fcr spirit i have an extra 10 fcr. i could either change my amu to a tals or similar rare, or i could switch out my viper for a different armour. either an ormus for more dmg. or what i think would be more interesting a que-hegens. if i shael it i'd need 15 further fhr (i curently have three holes in my inventory) to reach the 142 bp.

so what do you think?

a) tals amu or nicer rare

b) ormus for more cold dmg and slightly better es or mana regen

c) que-hegen and go for 142 fhr

cheers|||i have a sorc with almost the exact same setup as yours, and i use mara's.

are you 100% energy? if so you might as well get an ormus for more damage. i'm split energy/vita so i need the resists.

except i'm currently rebuilding her to be maxblock, it'll be interesting to see if that works.|||i have 93%es with 4260mana/1490life after BO. so an es ormus would get me to 95% also might consider a cold armour ormus. i think the shaeled que-hegen could certainly be a useful switch though.|||go with mara imo +2 all skill better bo some stats and resist very nice.

ormus gets my vote. orb lacks damage and no need fhr armor to be continued..

correct me if im wrong but me thinks you won't need that much fhr. i even recall few matches my pally vs es where the sorc teleported out after getting hit with a hammer stomp. even with es not affected by the reduced damage from resist, a 20k fire ball will do more damage to your mana than hammers but resist come into play when calculating damage to your hp so hammers is the strongest damage to your hit points.

by calculation(not 100% sure on it)

12k magical

1/7 pvp penalty

=

1714 pvp damage

*.05(damage that goes through 95%es)

=

~86 hp damage to hit points.

fhr is triggered when the player takes 1/12th or 1/10th of total hp in damage. so if i did it right you wont go into fhr from 12k hammer as long as your es holds. fhr is still ofcourse needed when es breaks/someone maximize damage/vs stunlock sins. i just dont think you should sacrifice other stats to go for 142%bp.|||sweetal: the fcr breakpoint is 105. ormus + mara's = very bad idea because that only gives him 95 fcr. if he's using ormus, he's using his 10 fcr amulet. otherwise, no reason not to use mara's.

that being said, i agree with your point about FHR not being terribly important on a 95% ES sorc.|||thanks for imput guys. i'm currently casually looking round for a suitable ormus for more damage. as an alternative (safety focused) switch, i have somewhere a 50/13 (um'ed) viper, but i'm thinking an 3x/20mdr (mal'ed) viper would perhaps be more beneficial?

and one more thing. is the pvp penalty definitely 1/7? i was previously under the impression it was 1/6.|||its 1/6.

It's one of the two armours I use on my FO/ES sorc.|||i'd have to find another 20fcr to use coh. and the resists would be kind of wasted with high level es.|||I don't know how others get so much life, but my sorc only has 600 or so, so I wanted the extra resists. Plus it gives skills and Str.

I think I'm using a FCR ring to make up for it. Plus I use HOTO. It's been a while since I used that char.
