Is it worth making one for pvp..
and what gear would I need to own some faces
FOHdins have a high potential to win against just about any build out there. Potential, but not invincible. Some people you meet in pub rooms will try and sorb you like crazy.
However, against your typical enemy who has no idea who he's up against, you'll win with relative ease (save Windys, Ghosts, and imba ES Sorcs).
A good Templar isn't cheap to build though, in particular the number of Lightning Facets you'll need to get your hands on; here is what I'm running currently:
-Griffon's Eye + Light Facet
-Enigma for the nifty +2sk, FRW and Teleport
-HOZ for melee duels (where I use Charge instead of Teleport); and Spirit for trickier Teleport duels where I need to hit 75FCR.
-Bloodfists for a nice HP boost, and a nifty 30FHR to hit 86.
-Arachnids for slowing enemies and +1; Dungos and Tgods on switchoff (which I rarely use)
-Treks
-Maras
-2x BK's for a nice HP boost and +2 skills. I have in stash 2x Ravens, 2x Dwarfstars and 2x Wisp Projectors...for obvious BM'd reasons

-CTA on switchoff for a nice HP boost and +1 all skills.
-+2 Conviction +3 FOH; 5x 5/5 Light Facet War Scepter
and then stock up on all sorts of charms. A Torch and Annihilus would help immensely. I'm running on 8pcombs, Torch/Anni, and Lifers/Resist SCs.
I'm averaging 8.4k FOH damage before resists and -resists calculations, and I can kill over 80% of pub duelers I meet without having to resort to BMs--over half of them in 1HKO's. It should be easy to hit 7k.

Would you recommend a foh before a hammerdin?|||Kind of depends what you are going for. The FoH paladin is pretty straight forward, FoH auto aimes (you click near a player and it still goes off if you hold shift) and is impossible to avoid manually unlike most other spells. Against non-sorbers Id say FoH is a very solid choice.
Hammerdin has the advantage of being a vA character, you can take anyone on. Hammers do more damage, cant be resisted or blocked, and cant be sorbed. It can be hard to catch defensive Enigma users sometimes and hammers move in a pattern that is easy to dodge manually and can be hard to hit certain characters with (super FCR fire ES sorcs comes to mind). Id say the hammerdin is probably generally a better choice, I've played a lot with both and nothing is as frustrating as bumping into a game full of sorbers. Hammerdins can be built MUCH cheaper too, to counter sorb you need loooads of -res and good damage as a FoH.|||Quote:

Yea im most likely just gonna make my pally a hammerdin.
Just having a hard time finding the gear|||Quote:

Practicality? Definitely Hammerdin. Despite favoring my FOHer more than my Hammerdin, you really can't argue that the Hammerdin is the most practical build out there right now.
Erians pretty much nailed everything, but I'm just gonna add that even when you get bored of pub dueling you can easily transform your Hammerdin into a PvM machine. FOH...well let's just say it's about as useless as they come in PvM.
The problem with PvP Hammerdins though is that there are way too many of them out there, so if you're looking for a twist to the typical duel char, Hammerdin definitely wouldn't be the way to go.

if you're having a hard time finding hammerdin gear, you'll have ten times more trouble gather gear for a good foher. hammerdins are super cheap compared to other builds and especially when compared to a foh or foh hybrid.|||Quote:

This. A good FOH'r won't be cheap.
