Before I quit last time I just got into duelling and now I'm working on a pvp char and I watched a few vids and it seems as if it's normal to drink Mana. Is that generally the rule? It strikes me as odd, since part of the build and EQ, especially on casters focuses on mana regen and having a large pool. With pots, that's irrelevant and ES is much more easy to use.
Thanks for insights!|||As of now its ok to use mana potions in duels, unless specific rules dictate otherwise. Its also very hard to tell if someone is using them as theres no outward sign they are using them (unlike health potions, or JUVs which you can clearly see their health bar rise). So people accept them as GM now.
On that note things are a little fuzzy concerning BM tactics. The only things that are universally considered BM by everyone is Naked killing, town guarding, hacks and Juvs. Aside from that, theres alot of debate on whats BM and what isn't (I.E. Absorb gear, stacked resists doom etc.).|||not all BM/GM rules are universal, but for any class other than energy shield sorceress, it's generally universally considered GM to use mana pots.
I have a few ES sorcs, and i don't use mana pots, i consider it BM with es (although many don't, it depends. usually if you're playing tournament or competitive, what is BM/GM is specified there, in pub dueling it doesn't matter ) although, the other reason i don't use them is because i don't want to spend half my game stealing people's gold to buy potions, lol. its not that big of a deal anyway, your mana regen rate is based off of a % of your max mana, and on an ES sorc you're going to to have so much mana that your natural regen is going to be just fine. my ES/FB sorc has only 2300 mana but she still regens ~100 mana per sec easily just from natural regen.|||im playing a 200 fcr fballer and i run out of mana. the fact that its okay to use pots means that i can use hoto instead of wizzy and technically bk instead of soj. personally, i think there shouldnt be any pots, but ill go with what the majority does.
thanks guys|||Well, non es, maybe. The reason it's bad for a sorc is, well, ES uses mana, so more mana = more tanking. It'd be like other classes taking a health pot

If not es, I don't see why not.|||Is drinking from a well ok? Because some guys I have dueled with save themselves with wells and tell me "it wasn't a potion" and personally I think it's worse than potion. lol|||it is worse, and no, not "allowed"|||still people do it in public all the time. if someone does it in 1v1gm it usually counts as a lost round for him.|||Without mana potions, every duel would grind to a halt after 20 seconds.|||Quote:

after about 5 seconds, beside fire BOLT and GUIDED arrow duells, doesnt take mana at all
