cold res stack.... how much is "enough"?

my smiter is capable of piling on a LOT of resists and i'm wondering how much cold res stack i should aim for when duelling blizzy's and orbers.

currently i can get +273% without Salvation and +370% with salvation flipped on (note: i need to use my rare lit/cold res/fhr/frw boots and a 109% res-all sanctuary shield to do this). however, even with this much, a good blizzy still hurts like hell. i can probably find a couple more cold-res/life sc's on other 'toons and move 'em over.

whats the top-end of -%cold res a tricked out blizzy can get? i'm thinking i still need another ~30-50% cold res to maintain 75% res.

note: this doesn't include those buggy scrolls from Malah. i don't think i've actually done those quests.|||use this http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/s...d.php?t=735295 guide, its for barbs but applies to smiters as well.|||lolz.

i'm not talking about sorbing them unto oblivion. that would be the easy-cheesy way.

i'm talking about a GM setup with one ravenfrost and godwads of extra cold res to negate their mastery.

i'm trying to avoid silly things like 205% cold res shields and Thul'd Kira's Guardian tiaras.

pala shield 45 res all, 4 sox, socketed with 4 saphires

Smiters aren't all that great imo. Either that or I still need to find a good one that doesn't sorb like hell.|||i did little math. correct me if wrong:

+ skills 24 (amu +3, nw helm,doom, 2 sojs, arach, torch, anni, 9 skillers, battle command)

mastery 235 %

helm facet 5 %

doom 60 %

armor 20 %

shield 20 %

340 %

hell difficulty 100 %

conviction 150 %

lower resists around 60 %

95 % for max resistances

total 745 %

it is possible to increase this for +10 % with skill shrine

it is very unlikely that you will meet this kind of sorc in party like this
