Gear:
Shako (Shael)
VMagie (Shael)
Hoto
Silkweaves
Frostburns
2xSoJs
Arach
Switch, CTA/Lidless
Right now, I have a ~74%ES with ~20K fireball.
Thinking about upgrading to 95%ES. If I did that, would I have to switch to a memory stick and lose the BO? Or can I still keep the CTA/Lidless without sacrificing too much damage.
Anyone with experience with Maxblock es sorcs?|||Quote:

I'm assuming a 15fcr+ amulet and a Whitstans shield with a Sur rune or mana jewel in it. And a skill placement of max fireball, all synergies and then max TK(should always be like this, ideally, with TK maxed before fire mastery - leave FM for last!)
Now as for 75 vs 95 es argument: The higher the ES is, the better. If you dumped all extra points into energy instead of something like 3:1 or 2:2 energy/vita combo, then your life will seem somewhat low and the more damage you can direct to mana, the better, you will also be less likely to go into fhr. I usually go for 85es as a minimum guideline.
Finally, since your skill placement doesnt leave much room for putting points into ES and this is a fire sorc (so no light skillers), precast is somewhat inevitable. You will have to precast both BO and ES if you want a higher ES%. Alternatively, you can also find a mix between dumping points into FM and ES after maxing TK so maybe you wont need a memory stave like that, good thing is, with respec, you can keep testing and see what works best for you, no need to rebuild the character from scratch!
Ultimately, its all about finding the best balance between damage, life, mana, ES%, whilst keeping fhr and fcr breakpoints. May I ask what is your life and mana total atm?
