PvP FoH/Smiter

I've always been interested in these types of palys, but never built one because either my gear was under par or I screwed up my build. Because 1.13 allows respec I'm considering having another go at building one of these.

I was hoping those of you who have played one could perhaps share your thoughts and experiences about them? Specifically I'm wondering how hard are they to do (not to mention what gear do they use) are they effective in pub/priv duels, what classes give them trouble etc. Basically any and all information is greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming wind druids absolutely annihilate them?

Thanks in advance!

as for the skills:

personally, i'd max out FoH and synergies. get conviction to a half decent level with +skills then dump the rest into the smite side. i think it's been proven that points in smite > points in HS with a grief weapon. get at least 1 point into Fanat.

play with a skills calc to be sure.

gear: i'd be going with the standard smiter setup and getting a +3 FoH 5os sceptre to make a CtA in on switch and use that along with a faceted HoZ or a rare +2 pally/2os shield with 2x Facets (damn the extra +2 on BO from a spirit, you want to pump that FoH). you may choose to try and cram a couple more facets in there somewhere.

stats: usual 1.10+ build applies.

again: don't even contemplate it unless you have a decent enough charmset to make it work.|||Ahh thanks meph, sounds like I'll be leaving it alone (for now). Out of morbid curiosity though, how have yours done in dueling in the past? I can't even remember seeing one in public dueling in the last year.|||i have never made one on battlenet (don't got the requisit charmset) only in SP hero edited LAN smackdowns with stupid crazy good gear (+3 pcombat/100 life ammys, etc, etc).

as fohers, they do fine until your opponent stacks their res.

as smiters, they don't do so badly, damage is down a touch on a full smiter, but not as much as you might think.|||don't worry about it.
