special LLD char request

[:1]hey guys

im thinkin about makin a lld (lvl 29) pvp char on hc for a tournament with the following rules:

Only ur own char (no merc, preboosts or cast any skills before the match is on)

1x Unique/Runeword item max

2x Rare items max

3x Magic items max

4x Socket white items (but not runewords)

5x White items

No slow or knockback items

No charms

i was thinkin about making a bowazon, but someone else already claimed that build and i dont want to make a paladin

bear in mind i am very unexperienced in pvp

any input would be great

regards

joe|||Trapsin, with Insight as the runeword.

I'll play devil's advocate and play out a loophole, but what about crafted items? With those limits, I can see good use in caster crafts ;P Sets?

Still, I'd say magic can go toward FCR rings, and the rare have a rare amulet (or magic if need be) with FCR and res.

Any charms? I guess not if they fall under magic limit.

Can you have a shadow?|||very interesting. is it one unique and one runeword or just one or the other? also, no set items? if you arent allowing set items and you arent allowing slow items, i'd pick the loop hole and make a charger that can flash holy freeze.

if you can have one each runeword and unique, pick one of the top 3 casters and modify it a bit and make your runeword a spirit sword and your unique a vipermagi. those two items bring so much to the table that you can cobble the rest together easily enough.|||Chargers would be too powerful in this tournament since all they need is that big two-handed weapon. No charms would mean a low life pool for most characters, and that invites a 1-hit KO from a charger with an eth partizan insight.

For non-paladin builds, I second the trapsin. Even a psychic hammer sin could be fun... that is until you meet a vipermagi user and his friend mdr bug.|||thx guys, i just asked about your questions and it is as following:

no summoning of minions before the fight -> so no skellies or revives

valk (peace rw) and shadow are allowed

health pots in the belt are allowed

no sets no crafts and one unique or one runeword

if chargers are really that overpowered with rules like that, maybe i should ignore my dislike of them...

would that trapsin be a fire or light build?|||Trapsin would be Light (LS).

Without + skills (should still be possible though), you can hit a 700 damage LS. That's with a Master, BoS, and MB + prereqs.

Can your socketed items have stuff in the sockets, as long as that doesn't make a runeword? For example, socketed Shael'd claws?|||the grey items can have runes and gems inside:

so the setup might look a bit like this?

rw:

insight in eth scythe

magics:

fcr @ amu

2x fcr mana ring

rares

30 frw fhr res boots

fhr life belt

greys:

low req armor with shael and 2 rubies

low req helm with shael, ruby and sapphire|||Assuming a hell rushed level 29 dueler, you'll have 40 skill points to work with. With no +skills, I'm only getting about 300 damage for LS since you're capped at 6 hard points. Even though WoF damage is a bit less than LS (130 avg dmg vs 150 avg dmg), I'd go WoF for the stunning. The damage of both traps after pvp penalty and decent resists will pale in comparison to...

a charger wielding an eth insight partizan. Using ppr's damage calculator on a charger with 18 points in charge, 20 in might, while wielding a 260ed insight with +6 critical strike, I'm getting 2600-5500 damage with a 46% chance of critical strike.

You said that health potions are allowed in the belt, which I assume to mean you can use them during the duel. The ability to 1-hit kill an opponent would render health potions useless, which give chargers another advantage.

If the tournament has a level cap of 29, chargers won't have to deal with WW barbs either.

Honestly, chargers should be banned from participating.|||I messed up hard cap >< forgot the level 29 thing.

And definitely agreeing with the OP of a charger. A shadow should be able to help there, but not much.

And if going Fire, you also have a FB with nearly the same strength. When stunned, FB proves very effective even on a lightning based trapper.|||Quote:

2600-5500...

Lolwut ?
